Telus Corp. (TSX: T) must pay back Quebec customers more than $2.6 million in texting fees, a court has ruled.
In a judgment rendered last week, the Quebec Superior Court determined the Vancouver-based telecom giant overcharged customers from 2009-2011 when it did not sufficiently inform them of changes to contract terms.
Telus said in an email to Business In Vancouver that it “openly communicated these changes well in advance of implementing them.”
The company said it’s reviewing the court case and evaluating its options going forward.
