Richmond-based transportation software developer Transoft Solutions Inc. has acquired Simtra AeroTech AB, a Sweden-based software supplier for the aviation industry, for an undisclosed amount.
Both companies are involved in software and CAD research and development.
“This is an important step for Transoft in continuing to build productivity-enhancing software for the transportation industry,” said Transoft president and CEO Milton Carrasco.
“Our goal in merging the two brands under one umbrella is to leverage our resources in order to raise the benchmark for aviation software which, before now, was resource-challenged.”
Transoft was established in 1991 and has supplied transportation software to 85% of government departments of transportation in North America as well as several regulatory agencies around the world.
