Two Vancouver financial technology companies are among the fastest growing fintechs in the world, according to CB Insights.
The market intelligence company named Progressa and Bench Accounting to its second annual Fintech 250 list released October 22.
Progressa specializes in lending capital to non-prime consumers, using a platform to help clients consolidate debt or pay off overdue bills.
It raised $84 million in August in an equity and loan funding round co-led by Canaccord Genuity Corp. and Gravitas Securities Inc.
Progressa CEO Ali Pourdad told Business in Vancouver at the time that he anticipates taking the company public by the end of 2019.
Bench Accounting, meanwhile, raised $23 million in a Series B funding round in February.
It specializes in bookkeeping software for small businesses.
Companies featured on CB Insights’ list were selected based on data submitted by companies, business models, momentum in the market and the company’s own algorithm-based scoring.
The 250 companies featured on the list have raised about US$53 billion in funding spread over 947 deals since 2013.
