UrtheCast (TSX:UR) has signed its first ever brand partnership, and it happens to be with one of the world’s most well known names.
The Vancouver tech company is teaming with PepsiCo as part of the 2015 Pepsi Challenge, and the deal will see UrtheCast providing the world’s first full-colour High-Definition footage of Earth as seen from space.
PepsiCo said the brand collaboration is unprecedented.
“Featuring out-of-this-world footage captured by UrtheCast’s HD video camera and its medium-resolution camera onboard the International Space Station (ISS), Pepsi will challenge live production conventions with the first-ever, epic film adventure shot from space,” PepsiCo said in a release.
UrtheCast CEO Scott Larson said the project aligns with the company’s core vision of participating in world change.
“We’re truly excited to see the ways in which the new Pepsi Challenge will allow us to harness UrtheCast's technology,” Larson said.
“This is proving to be a highly innovative collaboration and we can’t wait to reveal what’s coming around the corner.”
UrtheCast was in the news in February for having taken on the former deputy director of the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency, Letitia Long, as a member of the board.
