Vancouver’s WordLogic Corp. came in second place in a North America-wide business accelerator program competition hosted by New York’s CorpStarter.

WordLogic develops and sells predictive intelligence software that increases the speed of searches and text input on mobiles, tablets and desktops.

As one of the competition’s top competitors, WordLogic gets financial sponsorship to enter the international phase of the competition, to be held in China, which the company said will open business and investment opportunities in Asia.

“We see significant revenue prospects in Asia and especially China for our Reach and iKnowU technologies and we thank the organizers of the event for giving us this opportunity,” said WordLogic chief strategy officer Charles Lawson.

WordLogic CTO Mark Dostie said, “WordLogic is committed to expanding aggressively into all Asian marketplaces.”

The competition’s first prize went to Massachusetts-based Gerijoy, a tech company that has a tablet-based virtual pet to provide companion service to seniors.

CorpStarter is an accelerator program located in New York that provides tech companies with funding, mentoring, training and office space.
