Vancouver-based Absolute Software (TSE: ABT) has found a new leader to take the reins of the company after more than six months without a permanent CEO.
Geoff Haydon, who previously served as EMC Corporation’s (NYSE:EMC) chief operations officer in the Asia-Pacific and Japan region, is relocating to Vancouver to serve as the security software company’s CEO beginning July 7.
Ex-CEO and board director John Livingston left the company in December 2013.
Absolute’s chief financial officer, Errol Olsen, has served as interim CEO since then.
With the impending appointment of Haydon to the top job, Absolute chief operating officer Rob Chase is leaving the company June 18 to “pursue other interests,” according to a statement from Absolute.
Chase has served with the software company for 14 years and will stick around in a more limited capacity as a strategic advisor.
