A Vancouver company that makes special event apps now has a presence in the U.K., with the recent opening of an office in London.
It is the latest of Vancouver companies to expand into the U.K., including Vision Critical and HootSuite.
"We've been doing events in Europe for some time now and we realized it was time to have a business development office as well as to support and provide service in real time for our events in Europe," QuickMobile CEO Patrick Payne said in a press release.
The new U.K. office will be QuickMobile's base for its expanding business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
QuickMobile makes special event apps that uses digital brochures and allows for feedback from those attending the events. Its users include Google (Nasdaq:GOOG) and PepsiCo Inc. (NYSE:PEP).
In May, QuickMobile raised $3.2 million in follow-on financing from a group of investors led by BDC Venture Capital IT Fund, on top of $3.3 million raised in 2012.
Last month, QuickMobile won the Emerging Company of the Year Award at the BC Technology Industry Association's Technology Impact Awards.
