Vancouver-based QuickMobile is the fastest-growing technology company in Canada, as announced this morning by Deloitte in its annual Technology Fast 50 program.
The company, which makes special event apps, is appearing on the list for the first time because of its staggering 10,444% year-over-year growth.
Ten B.C.-based technology companies made the list this year, compared with six BC compannies last year.
Deloitte said that B.C. has a thriving incubator environment generating a lot of early-stage technology companies that can grow significantly, such as Avigilon, Westport Innovations, Sierra Wireless, HootSuite and Global Relay.
"B.C. is the new hub for innovation and investment in the Canadian technology industry," said Kari Lockhart, technology industry leader for Deloitte B.C.
Lockhart notes that OMERS Ventures – the venture-capital arm of one of Canada's largest pension funds – has invested more dollars in the technology industry in British Columbia than anywhere else in the country, including a significant amount of capital in HootSuite, BuildDirect and Vision Critical.
