Vision Critical has secured $16 million in venture capital funding, which it plans to use to boost its market share in the cloud-based customer intelligence platform business.
The Vancouver-based tech company announced July 17 it secured the funding from Georgian Partners, Northleaf Venture Catalyst Fund (NVCF) and Kensington Global Private Equity Fund.
Vision Critical’s clients include Banana Republic, Molson Coors, Time Inc., John Deere and the City of Surrey.
Pollster Angus Reid, who co-founded the company in 2000 with son Andrew Reid, departed abruptly as Vision Critical’s executive chairman in June.
In August 2012, the company received $20 million from OMERS Ventures during a previous round of financing.
Later that year, Scott Miller was promoted from Vision Critical’s chief operating officer to its CEO, replacing Andrew Reid.
There was speculation in January, when Toronto’s Difference Capital invested $3.5 million in the company, that Vision Critical was preparing to launch an initial public offering.
