The B.C. government announced January 18 that it is investing $733,006 in new skills training equipment at Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU).
The money will come from a $17 million fund that earmarks funds to cover equipment upgrades at post-secondary institutions.
“This funding will ensure that KPU can provide top quality skills training, thus supporting the workforce needs of our region, and consistent with our unique polytechnic university mandate,” said Alan Davis, president and vice-chancellor at KPU.
Some other recent investments at Kwantlen include:
- $39.2 million for the Cloverdale Trades and Technology Centre;
- $11.1 million for a library expansion at the Surrey campus; and
- $2.25 million for a building envelope replacement at the Surrey campus.
