Victoria-based Drupal development firm North Studio has merged with New York City-headquartered Drupal Connect.
Both companies will continue to do business under their respective names, with each one respectively becoming the other's American and Canadian division.
Drupal is a free and open-source content management system (CMS) and framework. It is used as a back-end system for at least 1.5% of all websites worldwide, ranging from personal blogs to corporate and government sites. It is also used for knowledge management and business collaboration.
John Florez, president and CEO of Drupal Connect, said North Studio's world-class Drupal design, development, SEO and training teams will complement Drupal Connect's Drupal development staff.
North Studio vice-president Karen Smallwood said, "Drupal Connect has some of the strongest Drupal developers in the industry, and this partnership will allow both our teams to realize their full potential as the industry moves to mobile development."
Founded in 1999, North Studio is a leading Canadian Drupal development and support company.
Its Drupal SEO and social media marketing division, Stikky Media, aims to drive traffic to clients' sites, and its education arm Q College is the only government-accredited college in the world offering Drupal diploma programs.
