Pacific Coastal Airlines announced August 27 that it will start flying non-stop flights between Victoria and Kelowna daily, starting October 27.
Saab 340 planes will be used on the new route, which will be part of a network of more than 65 destinations in B.C.
The planes are large enough for passengers to stand up in the aisles and can accommodate between 30 and 34 passengers as well as a flight attendant, on-board service and a washroom.
There will be two flights per day Monday through Friday and one flight per day on Saturday and Sunday.
Prices for the 65-minute flight are expected to start at $147.23.
“We believe there is significant market opportunity for this new route and that these new non-stop flights will be well received in both communities and the surrounding areas,” said Spencer Smith, who is vice-president of commercial services.
“We expect to see a healthy mix of both business and leisure travellers on this scheduled service.”
Pacific Coastal began other non-stop flights in January , such as one between Victoria and Prince George.
