The Vancouver Airport Authority and the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) have announced that they have reached a tentative deal, averting a strike that had been looming since the union issued 72-hour strike notice August 27.

PSAC Local 20221, which represents more than 300 YVR emergency services, finance and administrative workers, still needs to present the tentative agreement to its members, who will need to vote on its adoption. The review period will have no impact on airport operations.

YVR Media Relations said it will be business as usual this Labour Day weekend – one of the busiest travel times of the year.
