Scotiabank reports commodities post second consecutive monthly gain
The average price of 32 of Canada's major commodities continued to rise in June, up 5.1% between May and June, according to Scotiabank's commodity price index. All major sub-sectors within the index were higher. The index has risen 7.

Statistics Canada says crop prices in Canada fell in May
Prices farmers received for their products fell 4.8% in May compared with a year earlier as crop price declines offset increases in total livestock and animal products, according to Statistics Canada data released Thursday. Crop prices fell 14.

Statistics Canada data released Monday shows that sales of discretionary items in Canada jumped 9.2% in May. Total sales for large retailers rose to $9.81 billion from $8.99 billion in April. Year over year, total sales fell only 1%.
