The province has earmarked $25 million for 15 separate clean energy projects in B.C. About half of the projects receiving funding from the Innovative Clean Energy Fund involve biomass. The University of Northern B.C. received $3.5 million for a $12.

Sales of QLT Inc.'s (TSX:QLT) macular degeneration drug continued to fall in the second quarter of 2008. Global Visudyne sales dropped 31.5% to US$40.7 million for the quarter ending June 30 from US$59.3 million in 2007's second quarter.

QLT Inc. (TSX:QLT; Nasdaq:QLTI) has sold its Aczone topical acne treatment to a subsidiary of California-based Allergan Inc. for US$150 million. The deal is part of the Vancouver biotech's sale of non-core assets as it restructures its business.

A fuel system developed by Vancouver's Westport Innovations Inc. (TSX:WPT) may be used in future engines produced by a major European engine manufacturer.
